He has organized and directed more than 700 VE/VA, constructability and risk analysis studies on projects ranging in size from $2 million to $7 billion throughout North America and overseas. He has structured multidisciplinary teams of specialists to study a variety of projects such as wastewater and water treatment and conveyance systems, major transit systems, tunnels, locks/dams, buildings, healthcare facilities, communications systems, military bases, defense facilities, airports, bridges, piers, hazardous waste cleanup and highways. He has also trained more than 2,000 design professionals in the use of value engineering and the AACE Total Cost Management (TCM) approach. He is also proficient in the use of multivariable decision making approaches using weighed performance attributes, life cycle costing analysis, and the Safran Risk or Palisades @Risk software to run Monte Carlo simulations for project risk analysis and mitigation.

In 2011, David was awarded the Federal Highway Administration National Award “Most Outstanding Value Engineering Study: Under $25 Million Category,” SR 36 at Flint River Bridge Replacement in Talbot & Upson Counties, GA.

David Hamilton, principal of the firm, is a Registered Professional Civil Engineer (PE), Certified Cost Professional (CCP), Certified Value Specialist (CVS-Life), LEED AP, and an Envision Sustainability Professional (ENV-SP). David has more than 40 years experience in engineering design and construction and has worked on major projects in more than 47 states and most of the provinces of Canada.
His work has directly aided hundreds of clients in their quest to control budgets, identify and mitigate project risk, minimize change orders, and complete their projects on time and within budget. His proactive approach and ability to work with large groups to build consensus and identify workable solutions has proven to be a successful combination in optimizing project performance and improving project value.
